BDSM in Iceland - a small guide

The community here is (like the country and it's population) quite small but here are the most important things/guideposts for the scene/community if you're interested to get involved, learn, explore and get to know like minded people.

MUNCHES

"Munches often take place at a restaurant, bar, or coffee shop, the organizer usually reserving a large table, a back area, or a private room. People are free to arrive and leave within the specified hours. The primary purpose is socializing. Munches are meant to help those who are curious about BDSM meet others, become more comfortable, and better informed. Munches can also be a place to get advice, or pass on anecdotes about BDSM experiences."

Wikipedia about munches.

In Reykajvík (and sometimes in Akureyri) there are regular munches
held in changing locations every first wednesday and third monday of the month.

This is the best way and opportunity to start getting to know others in the scene!

They also have a discord server that started during covid where people meet online to chat and socialize!

FETLIFE

Is like a kinky "facebook" (not super user friendly) website where you can see all the kinky events, parties and workshops that are happening near you as well as a vast array of people who are there for various reasons (and with various manners).

There are also groups specific to certain topics or specific to iceland.

Fetlife is a great place to learn and read about ANY sort of kink from ppl. all over the world and find events (parties, workshops and munches) and for some to connect to people.

We do however not recommend fetlife as a dating or partner finding site unless you know what you're doing and know what you want and know your boundaries etc. (S.S.C. & R.A.C.K.)

Please educate yourself on and practice VETTING before meeting with people from any online platform or engaging with them.

BDSM PARTIES

Parties are a good place to see what others are doing and possibly to get to know others as well if you're not too shy, most people are very friendly here and they welcome new people with an open mind and open arms and want everybody to find their comfortable place with all this.

You can just come and watch, be curious, be shy, learn through watching, ask, interact, have discussions, meet new people and generally just have a good time with no judgement and (complete) anonymity.

There are strict rules and guidelines about safety, respect and boundaries.
